Seeds of Change – Edited by John Joseph Adams

This pocket sized short fiction collection started off with one of my favorite quotes:

“Science fiction is not predictive; it is descriptive.” —Ursula K. LeGuin

My favorite science fiction uses the future setting to point out issues in current society and human nature. This collection focused on a points of paradigm shifts in terms of everything from energy to natural disasters, I think my favorite was the first one, taking a look at race relations through the lens of how cloned Neanderthals might integrate and change a near-future society.

Definitely recommended, all the pieces are quite short and it made a great book for the bus comment.
